Brad Benavides made his Formula 3 debut in the 2022 season with Carlin Motorsport. Benavides scored his first points finish at Spa where he finished 8th. He finished the season in 23rd in the standings. The American driver took part in the Formula 2 post-season test for Charouz Racing System, and it was shortly announced that he would drive under the team now known as PHM Racing by Charouz for the 2023 season.
