Gabriel Bortoleto made his car racing debut in the 2020 Italian F4 Championship driving for Prema Powerteam. He had a strong debut season with five podiums including a race win at Mugello. He finished the season 4th overall. In 2021, he made the move to the Formula Regional European Championship with FA Racing by MP. He scored one podium that season and finished the year 15th in the standings. 

Bortoleto moved to the R-ace GP team for the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship. He scored 5 podiums including 2 wins that year and finished the season 6th in the championship. For the 2023 season, it was announced that the Brazilian driver would move to F3 to drive for Trident.
