Raul Fernandez made his Grand Prix debut in Moto3 in 2016 at the last round of the season as the replacement for the injured Maria Herrera. He had three wild-card entries in the 2017 season with the Mahindra Aspar Team. He made another four wild-card entries in 2018 for the Aspar Team and with his improved results he earned himself a full-time ride for the 2019 season. Fernandez had an impressive rookie season in Moto3 with ten-point scoring finishes. Fernandez moved to the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for the 2020 season. He achieved his first podium in Aragon and went on to score his first victory and followed that up with another podium and another victory. 

 

Fernandez stayed with the Red Bull KTM Ajo family for 2021 but moved up to the Moto2 class. Fernandez had the best rookie season in history with eight victories, seven pole positions and finished outside the top 7 just three times. He broke several records set by Marc Marquez and went on to finish 2nd in the standings just 4 points behind his teammate Remy Gardner. Fernandez made his MotoGP debut in 2022 with the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team. It was a tough rookie season for the Spaniard, finishing inside the points only six times. For the 2023 season, Fernandez moved to the RNF MotoGP team on the Aprilia. It was a tough 2023 season but after adapting to the Aprillia, Fernandez was able to build on his performance with a best Grand Prix finish of P5. Fernandez continues with the Aprillia bike this year, this time under Trackhouse Racing.
