Enea Bastianini was born in Rimini and rode his first minibike when he was three years old. He was successful in a number of categories prior to his Grand Prix career. He raced in the Honda RS125 Trophy where he was crowned champion in 2012. He also competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2013 where he would finish 4th in the championship after taking 2 victories. 

 

Bastianini made his Moto3 debut in 2014 and had an impressive rookie season, he took his first podium in Catalunya and followed that up with a further 2 podiums that season. The Italian would go on to have another impressive couple of seasons in Moto3, taking his first win in 2015 and finishing the year in 3rd in the standings. 2016 would be his best Moto3 season as he would finish the year in 2nd place in the championship with 6 podiums including 1 race win. Bastianini made his Moto2 debut in 2019 where he would have another consistent season, he picked up his first Moto2 podium in Brno. In 2020, Bastianini took a podium in the opening round in Qatar, his first Moto2 win in Jerez and followed it up with 2 more wins and 3 further podiums. Bastianini was crowned the Moto2 world champion that year. In 2021, he made his MotoGP debut with Avintia. He had a consistent rookie season and scored his first MotoGP podium in Misano. Bastianini started 2022 strong by winning the first race of the season, he then scored a further 3 wins and 2 second places that year to finish 3rd in the championship. In 2023, Bastianini moved to the Factory Ducati Team alongside World Champion Francesco Bagnaia. 2023 was a tough season for Bastianini, an injury in Portugal took him out of a big part of the season and then another injury in Barcelona added to his woes. He comes into 2024 with a vengeance and he'll be hoping to fight for the championship.
