Jorge Martin made his Moto3 debut in 2015 with Mapfre Team Mahindra, he was able to achieve a best result of 7th place and finished his rookie season with 45 points. He remained with the team for 2016 where he achieved his first podium in a rain-affected Czech Grand Prix. In 2018, Martin moved to the Del Conca Gresini Racing team. He achieved 9 podiums this year including his first race victory at the last round of the season at Valencia. It was another strong season in 2018 for the Spaniard and with 10 podiums including 7 wins he was able to take the championship title win.
In 2019, Martin moved up to Moto2 to ride for the Red Bull KTM Ajo Motorsport team. He achieved 2 podiums in his rookie year and finished in 11th place overall. In 2020, Martin had another successful season with 6 podiums including 2 race wins. For the 2021 season, Martin made the move up to MotoGP to ride for Pramac Racing. He scored his first pole position and first podium at the second round of the season in Qatar. Unfortunately, Martin suffered a serious accident at the Portimao GP that put him out of 4 races. After his return, he started the Styrian GP on pole and took his first MotoGP victory and also the first victory for the Pramac team. He scored two more podiums that season to finish in 9th overall and win rookie of the year. In 2022, Martin had a difficult start to the season with a number of retirements. He was, however, able to achieve four podiums and finish in 9th overall once again. 2023 was an incredible season for Martin, he fought for the championship all the way to Valencia but unfortunately was not a match for Bagnaia and ultimately finished 2nd. He comes into 2024 with the hope of finally taking a championship win.
