Franco Colapinto made his car racing debut in 2018 when he drove in the final round of the F4 Spanish Championship for Drivex School. He then signed with FA Racing by Drivex for a full campaign in the 2019 F4 Spanish Championship. With 13 podiums, 11 of which being victories, he became 2019 F4 Spanish Champion. 

Colapinto signed with Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2022 Formula 3 season. He claimed his first victory in the sprint race in Imola and scored 4 more podiums including another victory during the Monza sprint race. He finished the season 9th in the championship. For the 2023 F3 season, Colapinto will move to MP Motorsport.
