Jack Doohan, son of five-time 500cc world champion Mick Doohan, made his Formula 3 debut in 2020 driving for HWA Racelab. He had a tough season with his best finish being 11th in Mugello. He failed to score any championship points and finished the season in 26th. For 2021, Doohan switched to Trident Racing and had a strong start to the season with his maiden podium during the 3rd round. He scored his first victory at the Circuit Paul Ricard and managed to score a further 3 wins and 2 podiums that season. These results meant he finished 2nd in the overall championship standings.

Alongside Doohan’s F3 campaign he joined MP Motorsport for the final 2 round of the 2021 F2 Championship where he got his best finish of 5th in the second of these two races. It was announced that the Australian driver would move into F2 full time to drive for Virtuosi Racing in 2022. Doohan scored his first F2 podium in Barcelona and won his maiden victory at Silverstone. With a total of 3 wins and 3 podiums, Doohan finished the season 6th overall. After the post-season test it was confirmed that the Aussie would remain with Virtuosi Racing for the 2023 season.
