Tommy Smith competed in the F3 Asian Championship for the first time in 2019. He had a best finish of eighth place and had five more points scoring finishes that put him 12th in the championship. For the 2019-20 season Smith scored 48 points throughout the season and finished the year in 10th place. 

In 2021, Smith competed in the Formula Regional European Championship. It was a tough season for the Aussie driver, and he finished the year 31st in the standings. During the latter half of 2021, Smith competed in three rounds of the GB3 Championship and scored a best finish of 12th place. He remained in GB3 for 2022. The Australian driver scored a victory at Spa and finished the season in 19th place.
