Leonardo Fornaroli made his Italian F4 Championship debut in 2020 driving for the team Iron Lynx. During his debut race he scored a solid fourth place finish and would go on to score eight top-five finished which included a podium at Monza. He finished the year 9th in the championship. Fornaroli remained with the team for the 2021 season. He scored his maiden win at Misano and scored several podiums however, due to some bad luck during the latter half of the season, he eventually finished the year 5th in the championship. 

The Italian driver progressed to Formula Regional for the 2022 season. He was impressively consistent, scoring points in 15 of the 20 races. He finished the year 8th in the championship as the best placed rookie. On Fornaroli’s 18th birthday it was announced that he would move to the Trident Formula 3 team for 2023.
